Why are we providing free access to our wordings?
There are surprisingly few sites that offer clear, detailed examples of
wordings for wedding invitations and various other sorts of social
stationery. We suspect that this is related to a similar phenomenon we
have seen in the brick and mortar world of invitation printing.
Some invitation retailers require a deposit before they will even allow
potential customers to look at their collections of invitations, including
wordings. The deposit is refundable, of course, but only as a credit on
your future invitation order with them. So essentially, the retailer is
charging the potential customer to see whether or not they even want to be
customers! And since social stationery isn't something that people
purchase frequently, many prospective customers don't realize that this is
not a universal practice by any means and that they shouldn't have to pay
to see why they should select a particular retailer over another.
We can't imagine using such a tactic. We believe that by providing our
customers with the information they need to make educated, rational
decisions about their stationery and other wedding needs, we can help them
spend less money and be more satisfied with their purchases. That
philosophy underlies our entire website, where we try to provide free
resources for people who want to learn more.
Ask yourself if you really want to give your business to companies that
rely on other retailers to provide the information and personal service
that their customers need to make good choices, or hold whatever
information they do have captive unless you pay to see it. While such
companies may dangle tempting 'discounts', the truth is that in most
cases, ordering invitations from someone who has the experience to help
you spend your printing dollars wisely is actually less expensive than
